More Missing Jet Lawsuits May Land in U.S. Courts

Although a judge threw out a Chicago lawsuit filed on behalf of families of passengers on Flight 370, experts say American attorneys will likely take up more cases related to the missing jet, NBC News reported. But U.S. federal courts may not end up hearing jet suits as they tend to shy away from foreign air crashes, according to veteran aviation attorney Gerald Sterns. The airline is currently obligated to pay families of those on board around $176,000 under a multilateral treaty.
