Some sites aren't exactly easy to read, especially on mobile devices. Chrome for Android now has a hidden "reader" mode that will strip the page of annoying formatting so you can get to the good stuff.
There are already great apps out there, like Pocket and Readability, that do this well. But it's handy to have the feature right in Chrome for instantaneous reading. Here's how to enable it:
Open Chrome (make sure you're running the latest version) and type
chrome://flagsin the address bar. Press Go.Head to Menu > Find on Page and search for "Enable Reader Mode Toolbar Icon". Click the Enable link under that setting.
Relaunch Chrome when prompted.
Now, when you're on a compatible page, you should see a little "A" icon appear next to Chrome's address bar. Tap that, and you'll get a more readable version of the page.
Obviously, this is still an experimental feature, so there are no guarantees yet. It worked pretty well in our tests, though did strip out some images and videos that were part of the article, which isn't ideal—but it's handy to have only one tap away.
