Kanye West dons wet weather gear and sings to baby North in the new video for his collaboration with Paul McCartney, released less than a week after his second song with the former Beatle.
The clip, shot like a home movie, shows West silhouetted by fog and out walking through a soggy field with North, his 18-month-old daughter with reality television star Kim Kardashian. It was directed by American filmmaker Spike Jonze, who previously worked with West in 2007 on the video for Flashing Lights.
Only One was released on 1 January and features former Beatle Paul McCartney on keys. It is the first single from West’s seventh studio album, which does not yet have a title or release date. You can watch the video on Kanye’s website.
West debuted the clip on Ellen on Thursday, and told host Ellen DeGeneres how marriage and fatherhood has changed him for the better. “I’ve definitely learned how to compromise more … I’ve learned how to shut up more. I think I’m a better human being because of her [Kim Kardashian] and because of my daughter.”
Only One is the second charted collaboration between West and McCartney, who also paired up with Rihanna with FourFiveSeconds, released last week.
The three are reported to be performing the track – the first single from Rihanna’s upcoming album – at the Grammys on 8 February.
