We're taking a hard stance this year: The 2000 feature film version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas is better than the 1966 TV cartoon special.

We are not grinches for saying that! Let us explain.

Universal

1. Jim Carrey was born to play this role. Ever see The Mask? He's got the market for green, funny characters on lock!

Universal

2. We can't even with this cartoon. What is that supposed to be? It's like an obese version of the Mucinex mascot.

Universal

3. There's a baby Grinch and a l'il Grinch in the live action movie, and we want to pinch those cheeks!

Universal

4. The cartoon Grinch's RBF (resting bitch face) makes us legitimately uncomfortable.

Universal

5. OK, this has nothing to do with the movie, but we're pretty sure Jim Carrey's Grinch knows the lyrics to Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off."

Universal

6. The live-action Grinch scraps a lot of the Dr. Seuss rhymes, for sure, but the new lingo so quotable. He speaks to our single lady souls.

Universal

7. The Grinch's eyelashes are on fleek!

8. Faith Hill's on the soundtrack, and throwback jams are our jam!
