The 9 happiest cities in the UK for students
Where does your uni town rank on the list?
When it comes to university life, it's easy to look on Facebook and feel like all your friends at other universities are having a much better time than you are. But who is actually the happiest? A survey, carried out by accommodation provider Sodexo, asked thousands of students across the country to rate how they felt about their university of choice based on their standards of education, nightlife and takeaway options, and how stressed they felt in their degrees. They then ordered them depending on the percentage of students that had answered 'very happy' - and these are the top nine:
Belfast
94% of students in Belfast said they were ‘very happy’ with their education and city life.
Brighton
93% of people studying at the University of Sussex and the University of Brighton said they were content with their lives.
Coventry
Coventry came in next, with 92% of students expressing satisfaction with their university living conditions.
Wolverhampton
91% of Wolverhampton's student population said they were happy with standards of education, nightlife and takeaway options, and how stressed they felt in their degrees.
Swansea
While 91% of students in Swansea were 'very happy' with their university lives.
Leeds
As for Leeds, it was 89% positive feedback.
Aberystwyth
87% of students at Aberystwyth University expressed how content they were with nightlife, standards of education and how stressed they felt about their degrees.
Birmingham
Student satisfied at Birmingham university? 86%.
Bristol
85% of Bristol's students are happy with their degrees, the nightlife, the takeaway options and how stressed they feel at university.
