Numerous celebs continue to pay their respects after learning of Oscar de la Renta's death, and one of the most recent reactions comes from a star who was particularly close to the fashion designer.

Sarah Jessica Parker was a longtime friend of de la Renta's and famously talked the creative genius into stitching his name onto her Met Gala gown this year so that he could be the star of the red carpet.

Upon hearing of his passing, SJP released the following statement to E! News: "Knowing that sadly none of us will have more time with the beloved and resplendent Oscar de la Renta only enhances my exuberant appreciation of the time he gave, the talent he shared and the friendship he allowed."

Michelle Obama, who recently made headlines when she finally wore a de la Renta dress to an event, said, "Oscar de la Renta was a pioneer and a visionary who helped generations of women embrace their most beautiful, confident selves. My thoughts and prayers are with his family."
