Check out sample ballots for Alabama's special Senate election

It's about the cleanest voting ballot you will ever see.

When voters go to the polls on Aug. 15 for the Republican and Democratic primaries in the special Senate election, your ballot -- with few exceptions -- will have only one race on it.

Sample ballots from all 67 Alabama counties are now available online for review.

Here is a Democratic primary ballot.

Here is a Republican primary ballot.

Voters must choose when they go to the polls which primary in which they want to cast their ballot. Voters cannot vote in both primaries.

The Democratic ballot is composed of eight candidates, even those who may drop out of the race before the primary. Brian McGee dropped out of the race earlier this week and endorsed fellow Democratic candidate Doug Jones.

There are 10 candidates on the Republican ballot, including Dom Gentile - who dropped out this week and endorsed fellow Republican candidate Mo Brooks.

Voters in three Alabama counties, though, will have one extra vote to cast during the primaries. Referendums are also on the ballots in Sumter, Tallapoosa and Walker counties.

In Sumter and Walker, the referendum concerns the levying of a 1 cent sales tax for citizens in those counties. In Tallapoosa, the referendum concerns the levying of a fire protection fee for citizens living in the Union Volunteer Fire and Rescue District.

The special election, if there is a primary runoff in September as expected, is estimated to cost the state about $15 million.
