75-year-old dies 3 days after highway crash

A 75-year-old Allentown man has died three days after his vehicle crashed on Route 22 in Hanover Township, Northampton County.

The victim was identified as Jacques Altorfer, of the 1500 block of East Highland Street in the city.

He died at 2:14 a.m. Friday at St. Luke's University Hospital in Fountain Hill, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office.

The coroner said Altorfer died of multiple traumatic injuries and he ruled his death an accident.

The crash occurred about 12:15 p.m. Tuesday in the highway's westbound lanes, at the Route 512 overpass in Hanover Township. A state-operated traffic camera showed a single vehicle on its roof.

Besides the coroner's office, Pennsylvania State Police at the Bethlehem barracks also investigated.
