Finding a pair of sneakers for a steal is completely different from literally taking a shipment of sneakers off the back of a truck. One Maryland man learned that the hard way after getting busted for stealing $19,000 worth of New Balance sneakers while on the job.

According to ABC2, 29-year-old truck driver Courtney Lynn Slater, was charged with one count of theft between $10,000-$100,000. He pleaded guilty to the charges on Tuesday.

The crime dates back to July 2016, when an employee of New Penn Motor Express noticed that a pallet of New Balance sneakers was missing from a trailer. The worker reported the missing pallet and noted that Slater was seen near it before driving off in a truck. Slater was then spotted near a mall parking lot unloading the shipment before returning the truck.

Slater is scheduled to be sentenced on May 15, 2017 and he is currently out of jail on bond.
