Serena Williams Beats Sister Venus at Wimbledon, Serves Up Classiest Response to Her Victory

"It's hard to feel excited about [beating] someone you root for all the time," the younger Williams told reporters

Serena Williams is a graceful winner. 

The 33-year-old tennis star defeated sister Venus Williams, 35, at Wimbledon's Centre Court in London today, 6-4, 6-3, marking the siblings' 26th career meeting which will send Serena into the Wimbledon quarterfinals. 

"It's hard to feel excited about [beating] someone you root for all the time," Serena told the BBC following the 68-minute match, serving up a classy response to her victory. "I don't know how many more moments like this that we'll have."

According to reports, the younger Williams did not show any emotion, nor did she celebrate upon winning the match. Instead, the siblings walked slowly to the net and hugged before walking off the court together. 

"It definitely doesn't get easier," Serena said after her sixth Wimbledon meeting with her sister. "But today I was out there and I just thought, 'Wow, I'm 33, and she just turned 35, I don't know how many more moments like this we'll have.'

"I plan on playing for years but you never know if we'll have the opportunity to face each other," she added. "I just took the moment in and I thought, 'We're at Wimbledon.' I remember when I was 8 years old, we dreamed of this moment and it was kind of surreal for a minute there."

Serena will be continuing on in the tournament and vying for her fourth consecutive Grand Slam title. She will next face either Victoria Azarenka or Belinda Bencic in the quarterfinals. 

"There's nothing I would not do for this brace inspirational woman@venuswilliams," Serena captioned a pic on Instagram following the match. "how fortunate I am to have you as my sister. #sisters."
