Shakey’s Girls Volleyball League CV leg semifinal cast complete

AFTER three days of tense elimination battles, four teams advanced to the semifinal round of the Shakey’s Girls Volleyball League-Central Visayas leg at the Lux Oriens Gym of the Ateneo de Cebu.

The University of San Carlos (USC) Lady Warriors earned the topseeding in the Final Four after ending the elimination with a perfect 3-0 (win-loss) record in Group B after crushing the visiting University of Bohol, 25-11, 25-22 yesterday.

The Boholanas went home with a 1-2 record.

After meeting a token resistance in the first set, the Warriors found themselves trailing, 4-11 in the second against the inspired Boholanas. However, a 21-11 blast by the Warriors put the sting out of the visitors spikes as USC formalized its entry into the semifinal round.

USC will battle Abellana National School (ANS) which has a 2-1 record, in the semifinals. ANS advanced after outlasting the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters (1-2), 25-19, 25-21.

Meanwhile, the Southwestern University (SWU) Lady Cobras surged to the top in Group A with a clean 3-0 (win-loss) mark after bashing winless Saint Theresa’s College (STC), 25-4, 25-10.

SWU will face host squad Sacred Heart School-Ateneo De Cebu (SHS-ADC) Magic Eagles in today’s semifinals. Ateneo finished with a 2-1 (win-loss) record after blasting winless PAREF Southcrest, 25-13, 25-6.
