Organizers apologized for the confusion in a Facebook post Friday.
“We sincerely apologise for all the confusion surrounding our tribute to Mr. Nolan” the post read. “Mood Indigo’s tweet and Facebook post (27th October) of announcing Mr. Nolan’s presence at the MI 2014 was incorrect. We regret the announcement and the consequent social media outbreak.”
The 44th edition of the festival will run Dec. 26-29. Last year’s lineup of the literary section included Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan.
