KARACHI: Rangers arrested several criminals and drug dealers, including two Taliban, after launching a targeted operation in Karachi’s Landhi area, DawnNews reported.

The operation was targeted to crack down the group of drug dealers. During the operation, the Rangers faced armed resistance from the criminals.

Two suspects were killed and two Rangers officials were injured during the clash. While a pedestrian woman lost her life in the exchange of fire.

The Rangers officials found large amount of drugs and weapons during the operation.

After the operation, the Rangers cordoned off the area and arrested around two dozen of the alleged criminals.

The suspects have been shifted to an unknown place for investigation.

Rangers sources said that two militants from Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were also arrested during the operation.

Meanwhile, Police in Maripur arrested six alleged criminals and confiscated four hand-grenades, six pistols from them.

Four alleged criminals were also arrested from Mominabad.
