Holy crap. Justin Timberlake totally brought the house down with his crazy-good duet with Chris Stapleton. The two performed Stapleton's "Tennessee Whiskey" and Timberlake's "Drink You Away." It. Was. Amazing.
We still haven't gotten over how good Justin sounded with some country flair (even Miranda Lambert is still recovering), so we think the next logical step is for Justin Timberlake to put out a country album. Don't you agree? Of course you do.
The reasons we need a country album from Mr. Timberlake are many and very logical-sounding:
1. Duh, that performance
Just watch it. That should be enough to tell you that JT would slay the country genre. If you need other reasons, we got ‘em.
2. It would be something different from an artist we love
Fans would totally eat it up because it's a beloved artist tackling a new genre. Taylor Swift went from country to pop with insanely successful results. Justin could definitely go the other way.
3. You remember his Star Search performance, right?
Was this reason just an excuse to post this embarrassing yet adorable video of Justin Timberlake? Not no. But look at that cowboy outfit! C'mon, Justin was made for this.
4. Obviously, he would totally nail it
Timberlake can pretty much do anything. We've seen it. Sing, dance, rap, act, play many instruments, be ridiculously good-looking…what we're saying is that he doesn't know how to be bad at something, and we know he would work hard until the album was perfect.
5. He's a country boy at heart
Lest you forgot, Justin is from Memphis. So he was born with twang in his veins.
6. Think of the collaborations
Justin and Brad! Justin and Carrie! Justin and Kasey! Justin and Kenny! Justin and Tim! Justin and Tim and Faith! The list of possible collaborations on a Timberlake country album is enough to make us pee our pants a little bit in excitement.
7. We just need new music, dude
Justin. Bro. It's time. We need new music from you. We know you've been busy raising an adorable child with your smoking hot wife Jessica Biel, but seriously. We need you back.
8. Fans are begging for it
This is just a small sample of the reaction Justin's performance drew from the Internet, so imagine what would happen if he put out an entire country/soul album?!
9. Kelly Clarkson loved it, so you have to do this now
When Kelly loves something, you automatically are required to continue whatever you are doing to ensure that Queen Kelly remains happy. It's a rule of the Universe.
So don't mind us, Justin. We'll just be over here patiently waiting for your debut country album. Just kidding, we won't be patient. Not at all.
